Sheshan Cathedral
It’s said to be the largest cathedral in Asia. This shot was taken in 2003 with a film camera, and the church was undergoing a renovation. Should look a bit better by now.
A brief introduction (from Wikipedia)
The She Shan Cathedral is a Catholic church in Shanghai, China. The name comes from its location on the western peak of She Shan, a hill located in Songjiang District, to the west of Shanghai’s metropolitan area. It is the largest Christian church building in East Asia and was at one time the destination of pilgrims from across Asia.
The original building was constructed in 1863 but in 1925, it was found to be inadequate in terms of size and was demolished. The present building took 10 years to finish and was completed in 1936.
