The former Shanghai Public School for Girls
A public school founded by a British businessman called Sir Thomas Hanbury, this place was later managed by the Municipal Council in 1927. Then it briefly became a Japanese primary school and even a Nationalist school for a while before it became the dormitory of the Liberation Army in 1949. In 1958, this place was occupied by a state-owned Electrical Company until now.
Part of the building was demolished in 1986, thus it is no longer a symmetrical structure but still it is one of the most well-preserved historical school halls in Shanghai.
